2023 Membership Dues and Fees
The 2023 season is just around the corner, and soon we will all be making our way back to the river to enjoy the summer. The Club will also be asking you to pay your 2023 Membership Dues and Fees. We are now entering our 3rd year under the new structure, and I would like to clarify a few things to make everything as smooth as possible.
We will be using the same survey process we have used in the past. Beginning March 1st, you can go to the membership section of the CYC website, indicate the fees that apply to you or your family, and receive your bill from Chrys Shepard. If you are paying more than one bill, please submit separate surveys for each. We encourage you to pay via credit card as this is the fastest and easiest way for us to complete the process.
Please be sure to pay your dues/fees before the due date of June 1st. Chasing down members to make payment is time consuming for us and an unnecessary irritant to you.
As a reminder, membership has been defined as either Individual or Family. Based on the current bylaws, an Individual Membership is for one person with no spouse, children or partner. All other situations are considered Family Memberships. Use this definition to determine your Membership Dues and your Shore Usage Fees.
If you have a family member who will turn 25 years old in 2023, it’s time for them to establish their own membership. This includes paying membership dues and shore usage fees if the CYC parking/docking facilities will be used this season.
If you rent your property to others during the season and use the CYC parking/docking facilities, you are responsible for including that rental time in your Shore Usage Fee calculations. For example, if you plan on spending 2 weeks at your property and renting it for 2 weeks, you should be calculating your Shore Usage Fee using 4 weeks. The one exception to this rule is if you rent to another CYC member. In that case, the CYC member renting your property is responsible for the Shore Usage fee associated with their stay. Our goal here is to make sure we are fairly assessing the fee to anyone that uses the shore facilities.
If you are a CYC member, renting property and plan to use the CYC parking/docking facilities, you will owe a Shore Usage Fee for your time at the river.
Our approach to determining dues and fees is based on the honor system. Please do your best to determine your payment and support the club. As always, if you have questions, please feel free to contact me or Chrys Shepard. I look forward to seeing everyone this summer.
