Pine Tree Island for Sale

Dear Chippewa Yacht Club Members:

Alas, the time has come for us to sell Pine Tree Island. Our two kids and their families love the river but are not in a position to own an island, and we are now at an age when the responsibilities of island life are becoming increasingly difficult.

Accordingly, we have had the island appraised. Before listing it with a local realtor in early September, we want to give our CYC friends first choice should any be interested in taking ownership of this little gem.

O.25-acre Pine Tree Island is part of the Indian Chief island group just across the channel from Chippewa Point. We built the Grater-designed house in 1992, and renovations by Steve White were completed in 2015. The property boasts 360-degree views of the river, plenty of sheltered dockage, and even a wood-fired hot tub in which to watch the beautiful river sunsets.

The appraised value is $579,000 for the island alone. Our preference is to sell it as a turnkey operation, so we would include in this price almost everything on the island (excluding personal belongings) and our four boats:

  • 2003 25-ft C Dory cruiser (without trailer) with 130HP Honda engine. This is the boat in which we completed the Great Loop and many other cruises as documented at the-Fowles.com.
  • 1987 16-ft Starcraft runabout with 30HP engine and trailer, originally owned by Alan Newell.
  • 1999 20-ft Hawke 20 sailboat with 9HP engine and trailer. We imported it from England because of its many outstanding features and have won several CYC sailboat races in it over the years.
  • 6-ft two-person Old Town kayak.

Those interested should email us privately at patrick@the-fowles.com.
